The Strength & Conditioning Programme
15th November 2017
As part of the MB Wicket Keeping Academy, the keepers are given a specific strength and conditioning programme to work through during the term.
Given the nature of the game now, wicket keepers are required to be fitter and stronger than ever before, both physically and mentally.
This programme has been put together by one of the Middlesex C.C.C. S&C coaches, and is designed to work all the muscles required to perform as a keeper.
The S&C programme is designed to be carried out away from the Academy sessions, and is an essential part of the development process.
The keepers are then fitness tested at various times during the Academy term to see how their strength is developing, and if the programme needs adjusting we can make very subtle changes.
All of the exercises and drills work with body weight only, so there is no additional expense required on equipment etc.
